• 30-Hour Driver Education Course (Classroom Instruction)

📅 Program Structure & Timeline

• Classroom Instruction: 30 hours over 4–12 weeks
• Driving Lessons: 6 hours scheduled over 4–6 months
• Observation: 1 hour (backseat learning)

🚨 Attendance Policy (Important)

Consistent attendance is required for successful completion of the program.

• Students may miss up to 3 class sessions
• If more than 3 sessions are missed, the student will be required to repeat the course

👉 This policy ensures all students meet Washington State requirements and are fully prepared to drive safely.

🚨 Mandatory Parent/Guardian Requirement

⚠️ 1.5-Hour Parent Night is REQUIRED

A parent or guardian must attend our 1.5-hour Mandatory Parent Night the evening before class begins.

During this session, we cover:

• Program expectations and timeline
• How to support your teen at home
• Washington State driving requirements
• Safety habits and coaching tips

👉 This ensures both student and parent are fully prepared.

⚠️ Students cannot begin the program until Parent Night is completed

🧪 Testing Information

• ✅ Knowledge Exam: 1 attempt included
• ❌ Skills Exam: Not included (scheduled separately)

🪪 How to Get a Washington State Instruction Permit

To begin driving, your teen must obtain a permit through the Washington State Department of Licensing.

Step 1: Create a License eXpress Account

• Create your account or log in

Step 2: Pre-Apply for a Permit

• Select “Pre-apply for your first driver license or instruction permit”
• Complete the application

👉 You will receive a DLN (Driver License Number starting with WDL)

Step 3: Submit DLN to CDX

⚠️ Important:

• DLN is NOT required to enroll
• DLN IS required at least 10 days prior to class start
• Must be 15 years old for permit waiver submission

Step 4: Obtain Permit

After CDX submits the waiver, you will receive confirmation and can obtain the permit through the DOL.

• Welcome email sent 2 weeks before class begins
• Permit waivers submitted 10 days before class start (per DOL policy)
• DLN must be submitted on time to avoid delays
